Having worked as a competition lawyer at the Netherlands Competition Authority (now: Authority for Consumers & Markets) during seven years, Ines was involved in the very first dawn raids and investigations in the construction sector. Through having conducted a large amount of investigations, Ines has inside knowledge on how the ACM operates. InesLegal would like to share this knowledge and experience with you.

Ines has graduated from law school in 2001 with a specialisation in EU Competition Law. In 2005, she obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in EC Competition Law (King’s College London).

In addition to the construction sector, Ines has conducted many investigations at the ACM in the sectors of consumer goods, transport, automotive, hotel and catering, agriculture and travel.

At the ACM, Ines was responsible for the drafting of the new Guidelines on Cooperation of Undertakings. These guidelines provided companies with tools in order to self-assess whether a practice is authorised. As an expert, Ines also dealt with whether contracts were compliant with competition law, such as distribution agreements, franchise, non-compete clauses, exclusive/selective supply and geographical limitations.

In Brussels, Ines represented the Netherlands at Advisory Committees on restrictive practices and dominant positions of the European Commission. The objective of these meetings is to judge European infringements. For European issues, InesLegal can also serve you.

On behalf of the Netherlands, Ines drafted a ‘Country Report on Potential Pro-Competitive and Anti-Competitive Aspects of Trade/Business Associations’ for the Competition Committee on Co-operation and Enforcement of the Organisation of Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). At the Roundtable Conference  of the OECD on this topic in Paris, Ines represented the Netherlands.

From 2009 onwards, Ines has been working as an independent legal expert through InesLegal and provides advice on competition law to companies and law firms. From 2015 to 2017 included, InesLegal managed an international cartel case for an international law firm in Amsterdam. From 2017 to 2018, InesLegal worked as interim Legal Counsel Competition Law at Air France-KLM.
